What do you think Agency Wealth Partners can best help clients with?
It’s really the coordination of all the things that go in our client’s life, like puzzle pieces. We work to find out what specifically is important to them – personally and financially – and then we work as a team to make those goals a success.
It can be as granular as choosing a credit card or assisting them in working with their insurance agent, CPA, and with estate planning meetings. We consider ourselves as a financial coordinator or concierge in a way for our clients – not just as a stand-alone financial advisor. It’s about taking all the pieces of the puzzle and helping our clients put it together, to create a completed financial picture. Our mission is to successfully get them and their families where they want to be.
Dealing with a wealth manager can be confusing and intimidating at times. We make sure to speak using plain English and easily understandable financial terms and concepts. We work with our clients as partners and through an interactive way to involve them in the process while making them comfortable. In the end, we want them to understand ‘the why’ of what we do and see the value we bring.
Do you have a personal or professional motto?
I have a couple: ‘A goal without a plan is just a wish,’ and ‘Measure twice, cut once.’ I always encourage clients to first paint the picture of the life they want, and then we create a plan together to meet their vision. Money and investments are tools we can use to help create the lives we wish to live. Planning first allows us to use the right financial tools to successfully accomplish different objectives.
What business book would you recommend to clients?
I would start them off with reading ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki. The book highlights the importance of financial literacy and financial independence in a motivating way. It’s a great book to get in the right mindset toward investing and wealth creation. Another book I’d recommend is ‘The Road Less Traveled’ by M. Scott Peck, which explores how to become one’s own true self. Powerful stuff.
What is your favorite outside-of-work activity?
Spending time with family and friends. Also, anything to do with music, but especially playing acoustic guitar. I love Blues and Classic Rock – Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Led Zeppelin are all favorites.
